Floyd textbook

From the Pearson website, $123.95 correct at Feb 2016

This has traditionally been a face to face TAFE course requiring 72 hours of tuition and an equivalent amount of study by the student at home.

With the aid of the prescribed textbook and if you have access to some practical necessities, then, through the use of my notes contained on the subpages to this page, you could learn by yourself at home.  Or you could pursue a flexible approach and do some in advance by yourself and come to class to do the fill-ins.  If you are involved in an area of the industry where you are using components and test equipment you will possibly do much better at this study than someone who has no hands on experience – but after many years of teaching, I say ‘nothing is impossible’ and certainly some students surprise me with their ability to learn.

This book by Floyd has been used for teaching the subject for many years and has a lot of worked examples with answers.  Indeed a great book for flexible or face to face study.

 

 

 

This book by Peter Philips in either the second edition or this third edition shown is a good textbook for DC circuits, but for the later AC circuits unit of study, it’s a little lacking in material.  Check the library for this one.
